It's finally done!

Have been working on the following cross-stitch for years (almost 4 years to be exact)... And it's finally done! All framed-up and looking good...

But the problem now is.... Where do I hang this? The walls in my living room is already quite packed with stuffs. Ha! Ha!

Anyway, during 大扫除 last month, my dad accidentally dropped two frames that hold my previous cross-stitch work... The glass panes were broken and I had to get them replaced for $12/= each... Since I spent quite some money getting them fixed, I shall show them off too... Ta-da!

Pudty's sad...

She had been wearing a dirty T-shirt for ages....

So it was decided that she needs a bath... And down she went, soaked in a bucket of water laced with laundry detergent...

After some scrubbing and rinsing, she's all wet... And thus, a whole afternoon's dose of UV rays were prescribed... Luckily, teddy bears aren't susceptible to skin cancer...

And now... I present you the new Pudty! All clean and fresh from her first bath in about 10 years!

Nightmare 1 - In reality:
Geez... Seems like project "hunting" wasn't easy at all.
Just as I thought I was going to "clinch the deal", the professor e-mailed me, stating the opinion of the post-doc who is running the project - "... it would be better for you to try other labs."

Hmmm... I shall NOT over-analyze what the post-doc meant by this. But I shall put it in a positive light - The scope of the project is too big for a MSc student.

It's really too bad because I think the professor is really nice to work with....
Oh well, things doesn't always work out the way we want it...

Nightmare 2 - In dreams:
Recurring dreams. Recurring again and again. Different backdrops, but same theme.

1) Went to a beautiful place - A huge lake, filled with shimmery blue water, positioned in a vast grassland. I tried to take a good shot of the scenery, but despite multiple attempts, the image shown on my camera's LCD was blurry. After getting my settings right, I wanted to try again. But it was too late! The weather changed for the worst, and the water was no longer blue and shimmery!

2) Went to another beautiful place - I was at the submit of a mountain, overlooking a vast mountain range. I was at such a great altitude that I could see the clouds floating above the mountain range. Again, I tried to take a good shot of the scene, but despite multiple attempts, the image was still blurry. The clouds was too fast! I need to adjust my shutter speed in order to get a good picture.... Okay! I got my settings right. But it was too late again! The sun had set, and darkness crept in.

3) Went to yet another beautiful place - I visited this mansion which was built next to the sea. Gosh! The sea was a breathtaking one. The water was so blue and calm. The air was fresh and fragrant. This motivated me to take a picture of the scene. And guess what? My camera can't work!!!! I tried fixing it. After some time, my camera recovered. But then again, it was too late! The sun had set, and the scene was no longer visible.

4) Went to a beautiful place again - A magnificent waterfall this time. I took a shot of the scene and was successful this time round - The picture was clear and sharp. But wait! The image captured by the camera wasn't the same as the scene. What is happening!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!! But before I could figure that out, my dream had moved on to another scenerio....

These dreams occurred on separate occassions.
It's scary. What are they implying?

I was watching this variety show hosted by 吴宗宪 on new year's day when I find one of the things he said really interesting...

He was holding a Q&A session with a group of school children when one of them wanted to confirm with him if the 暧昧 relationship he had with a certain female celebrity, as reported in the tabloids, was true. His immediate response was something like this --- 你怎么可以相信？报纸上写的除了日期是真的以外，其他的都是假的！

Ha! Ha! How true! How much of what we read are true? And how much of what we read are simply brain-washing from the media? Think about it... And read the following passage if you are free:

Hi... This is really terrible... Can you imagine that this is only my 3rd post of the year??? Ha! Ha!

My previous post was on 22 Jun 08 --- That was like 6 months ago! It was also the day before I start my 6-month contract work with a MNC whose manufacturing plant is located deep inside Tuas. If you have followed the sequence of my previous statement, you all would have guessed that I have already completed my contract work... Ha! Ha! That was fast!!!

To conclude, this year is pretty much cut into half for me -
1st half: GIP in France
2nd half: Working on my contract appointment

Simple and sweet isn't it? Pretty easy to remember too!

So where have I been all these while?
Actually, I need not say - All those who knows me would have known (Refer to post of 19th December 2007). This disappearing act happened the other time I got involved in another similar programme. Well, it is not as if there is no such thing called the internet at the other realm... But... But... Oh well!

Contact lens - $130

Total: $3,560 (excluding the cost of a back-pack which I haven't paid for yet)...

This is really burning a whole in my pocket... And the $3,000 the school is giving me is not even enough to cover all these expenses... Or should I be more positive and say that at least the school is helping me cover more than half of these expenses??? Oh well.... I pray I can get a job after graduation, so I can return my mom all these money...

1) Road beside Blk 253 - Dead rat spotted. Smashed --- By a vehicle?
2) Road beside Blk 253, just before Blk 257 - Live rat spotted. Sharing food with the birds.
3) Road beside Blk 256 - Another dead rat spotted. Also smashed --- Another vehicle involved?
4) Pavement beside CC - Live rat running into the drain.

I spotted 4 rats at 4 different locations while walking to the train station... What have upgrading works done to our neighborhood? Drove the rats out of their "hometowns"? And now they are running all over the place... Getting smashed by cars and all that? Oh dear...

BS411 Examination today:
I predict to lose around 6 marks for misreading a question... Another 5 marks for not knowing the answer for "how far is the moon from the earth"-type of questions... The rest of the questions are fine... But then, I cannot understand the lecturer's logic of allocating questions like "Can XXXXX mutant can produce vRNA?" 5 marks? And more difficult questions like "What do you think is the effect of the following two drugs on XXXXX? Briefly state the mechanisms involved." also 5 marks? Oh gosh... What is my dear prof thinking?! I mean why allocate 5-marks for a "Yes/No" type of question... What happens if you are unluckly and get it wrong?! Oh well, C.A. 我全靠你了!

Ok, let's now change topic... About Mr. Spongebob... I was waiting for my turn at Yishun MRT station's escalator when I see this guy... Erm... Taller than me... Gothic make up... Wearing a punk-looking shirt and bright red pants... And carrying a... ... Spongebob bag???? ----> Found the exact image of the bag...

The first thought that came to my mind is "... ... ... ...". I thought I was being too critical by thinking this way... But then a moment later, I heard someone who was waiting just behind me say "真的是可爱形...有勇气...".... Ha! Ha! Ha! I bet that person was referring to Mr. Spongebob... I wasn't too critical after all, right?

1.5 months before the next semester comes in...
I have NOT settled my FYP yet... This is not a cause of worry if 99% of the people haven't got their projects confirmed... But it's really worrisome when 99% of your peers already have their projects confirmed and you (that special someone?) are still kept in the dark as to what project you will get, and whether the institute involved will accept you in the first place.

So 3 of us (from the same course) are going for the same programme... 1 has gotten her confirmation... Only the 2 of us left... I wonder how the other course-mate of mine feels about this... Hmmm.... Maybe we should write in to request for a change in institution soon, if there is really no news by the end of this week (which is tomorrow). I really don't want to let the whole thing drag such that I got to start my FYP much later than the rest... I still want to attend convocation you know... ARGH!

Anyway, pushing the "dark" topic aside... Something to ponder upon here... When I first saw this album cover - 鱼.粱《崇拜》- in a commercial, I thought that it really looked like something I saw before...

So I thought really hard... And I thought I found the answer... 哎哟迷.蛤蟆杀鸡《My Story》 album cover...

But upon comparison...

Hmmmm.... Well, many differences are spotted... E.g. Their hands are placed at different positions, the overall color scheme of the pictures is different etc.... But somehow this 鱼.梁's photo really reminds me of 哎哟迷's... There must be some similarities involved, or else the neurons in my brain wouldn't have fired in this manner.... Who can tell me the answer?

I was curious about how 不理你.死别恶's new album sounds like... I was searching around in YouTube And wow! I stumbled upon this song called "雷达"...And it sounded really annoying --- Well, at least to me. I think anybody who listens to the chorus will hear this constipated voice say/sing "I am a radar...[--- fill in the blank ---]... I am a radar..."... No? Yes? Or am I hallucinating? 真的是不要冒冷汗也不行啊！

Welcome Firefox... I have finally decided to discard the use of IE after so many years... Why? This is because IE refused to let me (1) log into my NTU webmail, (2)watch videos on Youtube (keep insisting that I did not install Flash player). Further more, it crashes whenever I try to start it for the first time after a window restart. I don't know what I did to IE... But it suddenly changed its attitude towards me... Oh well.... What a fickle-minded programme...

So Firefox, I got to use you as a substitute. I gotta use you in order to (1) check my school's e-mail, (2) continue watching videos on Youtube.... But there is some problems with you though... Using you, I cannot (1)access the "premium" version of NTU webmail, (2) stream music from Live365 player, (3)type Chinese characters... WHY? Are you ignoring my needs just because you are just being used as a substitute? No... You cannot do this...

The wonders of a laptop!

Have had a horrible BS408 test just now... I think I got 6 questions wrong out of 18... Hmmmm.... So if that's the case I will be scoring around 67% for the test... And that's about 7 marks off my finals (if the paper is worth 20% overall) ... Oh well. I did study. But then, it doesn't mean that you study = you will score, because the profs can always set something that comes from, let's say, Mars???? Hee..... Don't really feel that bad, because I know I still got a 70% finals. And from past experience, I did obtain a satisfactory final grade (at least for me) even if I didn't do reasonably well for the CA.... So I would just see how. Bottom line is: Always try our best in everything that we do :) Have no regrets! Don't have too much expectations.... Expectations... That one thing that blinds you 80% of the time.

Anyway, while I am saying all this, I am actually in the toilet.... Doing my.... Erm.... My big business! Ha! Ha! Ha! Sounds disgusting, but I am actually enjoying it.... The toilet bowl's height is just nice for me to put the laptop comfortably on my lap. Ha! Ha! The wonders of a laptop!!! And, of course, the wonderful toilet bowl!!! If only there is a power-point in the toilet.... Then I can do this for longer...

Okay.... Okay... I gotta go off now... I heard that sitting on the toilet bowl for too long is no good..... Better believe.... I don't want to have bowel problems next time.... Heh.... Ta-ta....!

Suddenly missing...

The one-week long term break came and went...
I was hibernating at home for most of the week...
When I finally stepped out of my house yesterday to return to school, I suddenly realized that my neighbours have went missing! Wow... Amazing!

Their apartment is empty and thus it's apparent that they moved away. It came as a surprised because I didn't notice that they moved away at all... I didn't see them move, I didn't hear them shuffle their furnitures or anything. Oh dear, I must be so caught up in my own world that I didn't realize what was happening around me. It seems that they suddenly disappeared into thin air... The evanescence of my neighbours... And I had never spoke to them even once since they moved in years (>5 years?) ago...

Oh well, this isn't the first time people just disappear from my world... Do refer to the post on 3rd Jan 2006.

Missing for a month....

I told a lie today to avoid answering some questions which I don't feel like answering... But I think I made things worst... It makes me sound so contradicting, and obvious that I am lying... I think she has a not-so-good impression of me now... Especially when she might have misunderstood my last sentence (before alighting from the train) --- "Well, that's why I think that question was stupid." --- was being directed at her.

Well, nevermind... NOT as if I knew her very well (the reason why I don't feel like answering some of her questions)... And through a series of conversations, I think both of us 真的是话不投机.... We think differently, with different views and ideas... And I find it hard to get some of my points across to her... Oh well.... Few important lesson to learn from this:

(1) Don't ever lie... If you don't feel comfortable answering any questions, just apologize and tell the other party so...

(2) Don't waste time trying to get your ideas across to people who don't think like you... It makes you sound like an idiot...

(3) Treasure your friends! Especially those who knows you well and understand you...

Oh well, welcome to the real world....

Something to keep in mind, now that you are older:
Don't brood over the past and worry for the future... They do not exist... Only "now" exists, and will always do. Therefore, always enjoy "now" -- the only moment that will ever occur.

The following passage is something which I have read recently. I shall post it here as a gift for you --- From the book "Buddhism - The Religion of No-Religion" which is a collection of lectures by Alan Watts. In the following passage, he gave a introduction to the Mahayana vision of the world --- How everything in this universe depends on each other for existence...:

"It is easy to say, "I depend on the universe. There could be no me unless there was everything else." It is harder to see the corollary, that the whole universe depends on you. "After all," you might say, "before I was born the universe was here, and after I die I'm sure it will go on. How can it be said, then, that the whole universe depends on me?" Very simply: without your parents you would not have come into being. For you to exist it was necessary for your parents to exist. That necessity doesn't change when they die. Therefore you depend on your parents even when they have gone. In the same way the universe will still depend on you, on your having been here, even when you disapper. And if you have not yet been born, it depends on your future arrival here. The fact that you exist tells us something about the kind of universe we've living in: it once produced you. You are a sympton of the kind of universe we've living in, just as an apple is a symptom of a certain kind of tree. It tells us something about that tree, what its function is. A cell phone was placed right in front of me. I don't know who it belongs to... It's probably mine, but it doesn't really matter.

Someone, most probably a friend, asked me to read the phone number on the screen to him. I don't know who the number belongs to either. But again, it doesn't really matter... I will read it to him anyway.

I looked at the screen... But I couldn't see the numbers clearly --- They were in a mess, very blur... As if the screen is damaged. I try to focus more, but the numbers still fail to show up clearly. I started to feel frustrated and was on the verge of cursing when a voice, probably from the same "someone", told me, "Of course, you cannot see the numbers. You are in a dream." [Silent thought: Okay, I see... Alright then...]

Suddenly, it came to the next scene: A bleak looking place, a man was smoking.... A conversation was going between him and a group of people... But I was only a passive audience --- As if I was watching a movie.... Unfortunately, I couldn't remember the details of the conversation and what went on with the people I am observing... And then....

I woke up...(Hello! Good morning me! Congratulations for waking up into another brand new day!)

Well, that was a dream I had a few days ago. I thought is was quite interesting...

[1] How did that "someone" know that I was dreaming? Is he my inner-most conscious...?

[2] From what I remember: Throughout this dream, I was without a body... That is, I don't see my body anywhere. It was as if I was observing everything through a screen, like watching a movie in a cinema. The only difference between this and watching a movie in the cinema is that: The light from the screen did not illuminate myself... Not because it was too dim, but because my body wasn't there at all. Was this what people call "consciousness without a physical body"...?

Hmmmm....

This is really sinful...
I went for a facial session this afternoon at Modern Beauty Salon (Ang Mo Kio Branch)...

It cost me $60... But at least it makes me feel super pampered --- Deep cleansing, blackhead removal, double-layered mask, face and shoulder massage.

The double-layered mask was really cool... I mean "cool" in the literal sense... It feels like ice on your face.... Very soothing. The coolness is great, especially after having to go through the painful process of black head removal --- OUCH!!!!! *Tear....*...

The whole session last about 1.5 hours and my face feels great after that. It felt smooth and clean... YEAH! They even persuaded me to buy a package from them.... But of course, as a miser, I only bought a (minimal) 5-session package for $170. But I didn't pay the full amount --- I only paid $100 upfront (the rest to be paid on the next session), because I don't feel like paying the full amount just yet... (I'm weird)... But I guess $170 for 5 sessions is okay... $34 per session --- which is much cheaper than walk-ins... And it can be used within 2 years...

Well, having spent $170 on the facial package, I guess I have to forget about getting the OSIM uScale BF (a digital weighing scale) which cost $150 --- Great functions: Body fat analysis through bio-electric impedance, body water measurement and (of course) body weight measurement. Oh man, anybody willing to sponsor me (fully sponsored prefably, but I don't mind partially either)? Perhaps as a birthday gift? *Hint.... Hint....*

Oh well, looking at how much I spent, I think I better carry on with my saving plan with Prudential... At least that will force me to save!!! I am such a spendthrift and my family is not even rich!!!! Oh dear!!!! 我真是天下最大的窝囊废!!! 该死!!!

Anyway, my response is coming in late (obviously)... Heh Heh.... Can't bring myself to blog these days, that's why... But 迟到好过没到right?

1) I don't know if this is weird or not... But my favourite line from Richard Linklater's Waking Life is --- "I had a friend once who told me that the worst mistake that you can make is to think you are alive, when you’re really asleep in life’s waiting room.".... I think it is so true... It never occur to me that we might not be alive afterall... Perhaps we are just part of somebody's dreams?

2) Personally, I think the best time to read a newspaper is when we are excreting unabsorbed nutrients in the toilet... I love it! It is the only time I would read a newspaper...

3) As stated in the "Intro" section of this blog --- "If she could only eat one thing for the rest of her life, that thing would be SAUSAGES!"... Yeah man! Sausages RULE!!!!! God!!!! Please rain sausages!!!! I would eat them all!!!!!! YUMMY!!!!

4) I love KTV-ing!!!! But I can't sing pop songs at all!!!! ARGH!!! I sound too weird ---- Out-of-place! Hey? How come nobody point that out to me yet?! 朋友们, I know you all trying not to make me sad, right? Thank you! Thank you! But... Yar...

5) I am trying to make myself capable of dreaming lucidly... Perhaps I should get a guidebook on it.... Hmmmmm....

Got a weekend job through JobsCentral.com...
It's a tour-guide job at a local farm...

Had a busy day at the farm last Saturday. So many people came to visit, that I was kept busy. I am glad this happened as it makes time pass real fast!

But unfortunately, a horrible backache struck me after I return home later that day. It was so bad that I counldn't stand straight... I had to walk like 梁婆婆 and the act of standing up from the sitting position was also very painful. It lasted for the whole of Sunday and only got better after I visited my family doctor on Monday and was prescribed with diclofenac. I took a week off from JRC, but I really hope they had something for me next week, so I can return to the office to earn some cash....

I think the backache came because of muscle fatigue (since diclofenac relieves muscle spams)which is a result of having to stand and walk around for 8 hours straight. Plus, I sustained a lower back injury 3 years back, so I guess it is the combination of fatigue + injury that triggered the pain.

So I have bean staying at home for the past few days.... Been so bored, because there is only a limited number of stuff you can do at home... So I started editing some pictures.... Erm.... As for myself: Erm.... I have been watching CCTV's version of 《西游记》on YouTube recently (all thanks to cougie47). In my opinion, this version is no doubt the best version of 《西游记》 I have ever watched. It really brought back lots of childhood memories. The acting is soooooooo good! The actors don't act the characters... They are the characters themselves!!!

Anyway, while I was watching it, I was amazed by some of the 妖怪 and 妖精 from the show. So, I shall make myself one!!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! Look at my transformation below... I am the modern 妖怪 that puts on glasses because I have been living in the caves for so long such that the darkness has damaged my eye....

(Thank God! Or else I will kill the _________. Because I handed in an 18-page assignment, not knowing that only short-answers are needed!)

(Really unexpected, because of the horrible project experience. Plus, I refused to look at the notes till 3 days before the exam. What is this?)

- CV4202 Human Resource Management & Entrepreneurship --> B+
(Thank God! Because I am rather pessimistic about business-sy modules...)

- EM107 Environmental Health and Safety --> A (Too bad this will not be counted to my overall grades! Can I swoop this great with BS310, I don't mind you know...)

Yeah... Not very fantastic results.... But I guess I should be happy about it, considering that I am not the brightest people around... *Well....* Hmmmm, the whole point is: I should not be too overly ambitious --- Afterall, my capabilities are limited and the best is definitely not meant for me. I should learn to let go --- Just like what one of the phrase in 五月天's《咸鱼》says, "... ... 也许放弃掉一些活得更轻松... ...".

Looking back at the past two years, I realize I have been quite stagnant.... I have made no achievements... Nothing at all.... What a failure and waste of my life...

I should have been more proactive... Trying my luck for research internships and begging for a job in my school's lab during the hols... But now it is all too late... This is the last break before my final year in the university... I still got nothing...

Will I be able to find a job in the research field after I graduate? My resume looks pathetic and worthless... And the job opportunities for research in the country I am living in is limited... How am I going to get any universities to accept me into their MSc programmes? Will I get good referrels?

Am I excessively worried? But its too late for any regrets now.... My mood is really going downhill, just like Jack and Jill.

Nevermind.... Here's something to cheer me up:

Weird things can happen while studying for a CV4202 test:

Recently some J-singer (--> Ai yoh mi! Toad kills the chicken!) came out with a new compilation album.... So posters of her are put-up everywhere (esp. in train-stations...) for advertising purposes...

Is it just me, or is the image on the poster really scary? I really don't like the idea of some alien-ed eye "human" staring at me while I am walking past "her" (it)... So freaky! I am being followed by an alien-ed eye "human"! 哎哟咪蛤蟆杀鸡 is really terrifying... But obviously she is targeting the wrong audience! I am not a chicken!!!! I am not a chicken!!!! So stop staring at me!!!!!

Okay... I was complaining about CS117 awhile ago... I am here to announce that I have dropped it. I replaced CS117 with EM107 - Environmental Health and Safety. This module's assessment consist of 10% quiz and 90% exam (Wah....)... The timing of the lecture (+ tutorial) is a little late... Every Friday, 1730 to 2030, but I don't mind coz it is on a Friday and I don't have a class on Saturday. Attended the first lecture yesterday: It was quite interesting -- air pollution, acid rain, control of industrial waste (gases) and some interesting statistics.

Further more, I dropped BS303 - Structural Biology. I attended the first lecture and was greeted with loads of alien mathematical formulas. I asked around and was told that those are 'A' level mathematics... *Thanks...* Good for those who have gone to JC.... These maths are needed for its applications in structural biology --> I don't think I can digest 2 years of 'A' level mathematics in just 2 weeks for this module!!!! ARGH! So I dropped it and signed up for another module dealing with drug design and discovery... OK.... That's likely to be chemistry.... BUT at least I am more in touch with chemistry than 'A' level mathematics.... (Plan for the May-August holidays... Study 'A' level maths lar... I feel so bad at not knowing them... ARGH!)

CS117.... Fear again....

Okay... I am allocated the CS117 Popular Culture module for my general elective...
But again, I am getting rather nervous about attending this class...
Coz I don't know anybody else other than myself who is attending the class. And since this module has a project-based assessment component, I am so afraid that I cannot find a team to join! Further more, this class only has lectures -- no tutorials, and thus the situation is BAD!!!! That means I will be stuck in a lecture theatre full of people whom I don't know... And it means it will be hard for me to socialize because there is just too many people liaoz.... They may already know each other and blar, blar, blar.... How can I fit in???!!!! How??? This is worrying man!

I think I will go for the first lecture this Wed and see how's the atmosphere like.... If I feel very uncomfortable about it, I will drop it the very same night... And try for the BS803 module (which hopefully still has vacancies)... Although I may be faced with the same problem with BS803, but at least it is a biology related course... And thus I will not feel extra anxiousness about the whole thing.... SIGH!!!!!

13:33.... Struggling to finish one chapter in genetics... "Molecular Pathology & Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium"... This is the 6th chapter.... 4 more chapters to go for the exam on Fri... BLEAH! Just finished two chaptes on the zebrafish just now (for developmental biology).... Quite disppointed with the amount I have absorbed.... Zebrafish is almost too similar to the Xenopus for my brain to make distinctions between the two and make meaningful absorption of the information....

Geez... Feels so good to be home after such a long day...
Handed up my BS305 practical report today... Quite amaze with myself that I actually completed it (Not as if I have a choice not do hand up or what...)! Haven't seriously drawn for ages... (I mean I am the kind of student in secondary school that only hand up 1 or 2 piece of art work per year...) But guess what? I actually picked up a pencil and drew a cross-section of a (dicot) stem and a leaf for the report!!!! Wow! Great achievement, Dr. Apoptosis!

The part of the report where we have to comment on our chromatography results?.... Errrrr.... Actually, I don't really know what to comment on our results... They are not perfect... Not all samples showed bands... And some standards showed multiple bands... Well.... Another failed experiment... Geez.... Spent lots of time on this part of the report... Can't think of anything to write!!!! I spent the whole of last night doing it... Went to bed at 12 a.m.... Woke up at 2.30 a.m. to work on it... Then I didn't manage to get any sleep after that because I have to get back to school.... I actually can't believe I am still awake now!!!! Awake for 21+ hours in a row!!!! If I were to complain that I am feeling really sleepy, and somebody were to reply asking "What time did you sleep last night?".... My answer would be "Why not ask me what time I woke up this morning?"... Okay... I know I shouldn't be complaining... Coz I know lots of night owls out there who don't sleep at night... But then? I am not a night owl.... I am a afternoon cow..... Anything.... Anything.... Ha! Ha!

Anybody watched "Einstein's Big Idea" on Channel NewsAsia just now? I thought it is really interesting... Too bad it only last for 1 hour... Still gotta wait for another week to watch the second part.... Hmmm...

For the past 2 Fridays, I had also watched 2 interesting documentries... "The Diva Mummy" and "Frozen in Time: Mummies Forever"... IT IS SO INTERESTING! Who can teach me how to preserve dead bodies?! My GOD!!!! So AMAZING!!!

The holidays is over.. BooHoo! No more sleeping till 10 in the morning... Gotta wake up like 7 now? Bah!

Went to Bangkok during the hols... The trip is fine lar... Lots of walking and complaining (due to my untrained legs that gets tired easily)... And I brought back lots of useless stuff (yeah... as usual...)... And I have learnt an important lesson there... NEVER take Tuk-Tuks again... If you wanna know why, ask me OKAY? It's such a long story... (Hint: I got ditched by the Tuk-Tuk driver....But I didn't have an affair with him.... OMG! What is it?!)

Also, I came back to clean my hostel yesterday... (Yes... I have hibernate enough at home... It has been a month...) When I opened the door, I realized that my room-mate is missing! Her things are all gone too! OH NO! WHAT HAPPENED TO HER? DID THE ALIENS KIDNAPPED HER?! AH!!!! *FREAK OUT....FAINT....*... Eh... Actually I already knew that she is moving out lar (coz she told me so...) but I didn't expect it to be so soon... Sigh!

Alright... That's about all I have to say for this "once in a diamond moon" update... Ta-ta! Gotta get ready for lessons liaoz...

Old Photos...

I was looking through a stack of old papers and books when I found these two photographs...

It belongs to my mum (because she is in the photo) and I showed it to her. She was really surprised when she saw them. Why? Because she couldn't remember she had taken these photos at all. And also, she couldn't recognise some of the people in there.

I flipped to the back of the photos and written there are "To: Irene --- "With Compliments" --- Best wishes from: Janet, 13/9/1978". When she read the word "Janet", her reaction was, "Who is Janet huh?" ... Ha! Ha! Then I realize that she is as absent-minded as me... Ha! Ha! If you give me a class photo of 3 Loyalty etc, I might have forgotten most of the people already. Who are they, what are their names etc.... I guess it's in the genes!

Anyway, I found the photos too yellowish. So I scanned it and "Fireworked" it (as usual)... And with simple clicks of "Filters -> Adjust Color -> Auto Levels" and "Filters -> Sharpen -> Sharpen", I managed to transform the photos to this quality...

Ta-da! Looks "fresher" right?
Let's put the before and after photos together...

Ha! Ha! Okay.... Okay... That's all for the photo-editing part...
I shall remind myself to remind my mum to find out who on earth is Janet... I am such a busy-body, aren't I? Lalalala..... And who can point out which one of them, in the photos, is my mummy?

2 Pretty Ladies... Opps! Or Is It Just One?

I was just looking through the photographs I took during my industrial attachment last year... And I can't help smiling whenever I see this photograph...
Yes... I took it during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival...
These "two" ladies were sitting inside the Starbucks (as seen from their cups) located along High Street when I spotted them. I actually wanted to 偷拍 (because I find the "lady" sitted on the right so cute), but they caught me red-handed... And guess what? They actually posed for the picture! Woohoo! So sweet right? Ha! Ha!

Hate shopping for clothes!

I do not have a "shopping-for-clothes-friendly" figure... Below are the reasons why...

1) Short and fat arms= Cannot get sleeveless shirts or shirts with very short sleeves....

2) Big boobs = Hard to get buttoned shirts... Cannot button at the boobs... Even if I manage to, there will be a "hole" which people can look into.... Eh....

3) Super big hips + buttocks + thighs = Difficult to get pants that would fit... SAD! Aunty see already also dunno what to say...

4) Short legs = Must always alter length of pants.... ARGH!

5) Fat = XL for most shops... Sometimes XL also cannot... Boo Hoo! Okay... UK size 16..... Not the biggest UK size... Yahoo! I shall migrate to UK in the future! Right?!

6) Small feet = Easy to get shoes.... But small feet and a huge body is not a good combination... Agree?

Because of the above reasons, I hate shopping for clothes... It can be humilating experience... Yeh...

I finally finished my cross-stitch!
It is small one (stitch-count = 80 X 95)... But it has taken me a long time to do... Like 2 years? Eh.... 2 years un-continuously lar... Ha! Ha! So don't faint.... Nice? Nice? Please say nice!

Have you guys ever wondered what's so good about a "Rubber Stamp" function in an image editor? If not, look at the pictures above...

The picture on top is the original picture which I took at Loch Ness, Scotland. The picture below is exactly the same picture, except that it has been altered using a "Rubber Stamp" function. Can you spot the difference?

If you can, you are fine... Healthy eyes! Good for you!
If not, please see a doctor -- You have been diagnosed with a serious eye disease called "Cock Eye" which is more commonly known as BJTS syndrome... (BJTS = ba jiu tia stamp)

Yeh... Now you know what's so good about the "Rubber Stamp" function! Not only do they serve to exterminate humans (as seen from the picture above), it can also be used to diagnose some forms of serious illness... Isn't it cost effective to have them?

Alright... It's real stupid... Guess what I actually tried to do just now?

I actually tried to vomit out my dinner which consists of 1 piece of honey glazed chicken, 1 bowl of sugarless 豆花 and 1/4 pack of fried gua tiao... Yestk! Sinful isn't it?

But I stopped myself during the process anyway. Coz it suddenly came upon me that "This is so stupid!" and I do not want it to become a habit... Who wants to live in the toilet all day long? Nobody... Including me... Coz I am a nobody too... Ha! Ha!

Ouch! I Love This Picture!

Ouch! This is really painful! A wound I suffered from a fall...
It is a fall from my bicycle. The bicycle skidded while I was making a turn on a wet road (it was a rainy day mah)...
That was a few months ago... Now the wound has healed, but you can see the scar... Not a very nice scar, so I didn't bothered to take a picture of it...
I mean the scar looked a bit dull in color... Dry... Lifeless... So yah... Not really interesting...
Oh... But this is different! I love this pic! I actually bothered to take a photo of my wound while I was in pain! This picture smells so fresh... Full of life, with a color of intense passion! Lovely! MamaMia!

Okie... Let me make myself clear... I have a fat body... But my face still looks young... Yes... I have a 20 years old's face and I am 20 -- Just right. So why do people keep calling me aunty based on how my body looks?! And some even say I have kids already.... WHAT THE __________ (fill in the blank)!

At a pharmacy in a shopping centre near my place, this happened (18/4/05):

Brainless Shop Assistant:“小姐，需要我帮忙吗？”
Me:“你们有没有卖insect repellent?"
Brainless Shop Assistant :“Huh?”
Me:“Insect repellent”
Brainless Shop Assistant :“什么来的？”
Me: “那种可以拿来赶走昆虫的东西。。。”
Brainless Shop Assistant :“Orh... 在这里。。。”

（Brings me to the shelf... I picked up a bottle...)

Brainless Shop Assistant :“小姐，你要买给谁？你的孩子吗？”

Okay... When I heard that sentence, I was SUPER INSULTED! You know what I mean from my opening paragraph... At that moment, I feel like shouting... "You bloody asshole... I am just 20, a virgin and owns a young face...Where has your eyes grown? Your butt? You must have squashed both of them while sitting on them all your life... They are rotting at your butt now... Why don't you quit this job and spent the rest of your life cleaning the decay at your butt...?!" Luckily, I am kind enough not to shout at her at her workplace... Or else she will DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! She may have to run into the toilet and hide her face inside the toilet bowl... And hopefully she tripped and fall into the toilet bowl... Head first and get stuck there... DROWN BITCH! Drown and die inside a toilet bowl!

Or it was it her blue contacts that made her blind? Yar.... Blue contacts on a sagging old face... What the _____________ (fill in the blank again)! That is ENOUGH!
